Plot[]

One very slippery and icy day Dragon is in his yard when he slips and falls on his bum. Mail Mouse passes by and sees Dragon slipping and sliding away. She points out that his yard is so icy, he should put on skates! But Dragon has never ice-skated before. So he goes to Ostrich's and buys some skates and a helmet. Back home he laces up the skates, dons his helmet, hops on the ice… and immediately lands on his bum. He tries again and lands on his bum again. After a few days of practice (with a little help from a chair), Dragon discovers he's now a pretty good skater and invites his friends over for their first ever skating party/hockey game. They have a wonderful time playing shinny, falling down together on their bums, cracking the whip and taking hot chocolate breaks.

Trivia[]

  • Beaver is the only one that's not ice skating. He just watches everyone else skate instead of joining in the fun.
  • Everyone appears in this episode.
  • The hockey puck has a red penguin on it.
  • Dragon's red skating helmet changes a little differently.
  • When Dragon uses his chair to skate with given advice from Beaver, his arm spins fast in circles thinking that he was almost going to fall down.
  • All the segment pictures Dragon puts up on his wall are mixed up with the wrong segment, even though the pictures can be put up on the wall for the same segment that begins.
  • In the segment "It Takes Skates," where Dragon first learns how to skate, he falls down on his bum and then gets up to try again, but just as the segment ends, the same shot of him getting up is shown, but is mirrored.
  • This is the first episode Dragon mentions bums when he says helmets should be made for those as well as heads.
  • Dragon wears a red skating helmet on his head and it's most likely how it can fit his head even over his white horns, as his white horns can be briefly seen while wearing his helmet and they don't even stick his helmet out.
  • When Dragon looks like a hockey player which the narrator mentions, he's not even holding onto the chair, and he's not falling down either, even though he's on the ice. He throws the puck on the ice and laughs, but when he moves, he's suddenly holding onto the chair again which he still needs from falling down.
