Rhythm Sticks / Tongue Exercises / Shake / Shake Shake Shake to the Music is the eighth episode of the second season of 4 Square.

Rhythm Sticks (Rhythm Segment)[]

Stephanie notices the viewer, and then they do their thing. After the thing, Stephanie introduces the segment saying "We were having so much fun with the rhythm sticks!" and then they show off their rhythms with their sticks. Emma says the viewer requires two straws, two spoons, or even two fingers to do the rhythms. After everyone does the rhythms together, the BeatTeam does all the rhythms again, then create a sick beat like a snare drum solo with their rhythm sticks!

Stephanie's rhythm is the quarter notes/the "ta's": Ta, ta, ta, ta.

Ingrid's rhythm is the eighth notes/"ti-tis": Ti ti, ti ti, ti ti, ti ti

Roney's rhythm is the sixteenth notes/"tika-tika's": Tika tika, tika tika, tika tika, tika tika

Emma's rhythm is the half notes/the twos: Too-woop! Too-wooo! (Instead of hitting it for each syllable, hit first then slide noisily)

Tongue Exercises (Poetry Segment)[]

Pay and Paige present the poem Tongue Exercises by Jeff Sweeney. After Pay reads it out loud, she teaches Paige, who then teaches the poem to the viewers. After that, Pay and Paige interpret the poem and talk about what kind of tongue exercises they can do, when Paige does a silly one. Pay says "That's a good workout!" Then everyone does the poem together

My tongue goes out, my tongue goes in (make squeaks for when the tongue darts out and in)

My tongue can waggle down to my chin! (vocalize while wiggling your tongue to your chin, like "blu-blu-bleh", then stick tongue out and touch chin)

My tongue goes in, my tongue goes out (make squeaks for when the tongue darts out and in)

My tongue can reach up to my snout (try to touch your nose with your tongue while making a high pitched sound, then touch nose)

Shake (Movement Segment)[]

The episode begins with how the 4 Square Dancers always start: with the Oh My Friends song, and the roll call, where they salute by shaking their bodies, like doing the "body wave" from Making Waves, and saying their name like the action. Captain Huppette then asks the viewer if he/she would like to shake, and says she and the others will show the viewer. First they are to shake the hands, which is shaking the hands in the air, like drying them out. She then wants to see the viewer try so. After, they are to shake the head, which is shaking the head side to side and vocalize while trying to make a gobbling sound, and then wants to see the viewer try as well. After this, they are to shake the bum, by turning around and moving their arms back and forth, while wiggling the bum slightly. After this, the three of them do the whole thing again. Before the episode ends, Captain Huppette says: "Now you can shake, like a cute rattlesnake!" and then the four sing the Heppity Ho song.

Shake Shake Shake to the Music (Singing Segment)[]

The episode starts with The Four Tones, who were originally going to sing Wooster The Rooster, when Chantelle suddenly walks away, sulking. Kellylee is the last to realize as she sings a final "Wake up!", when Alison and Starr tap her shoulder. Starr interrupts the song and then asks what is wrong. Chantelle says that she had a terrible day, due to it being cloudy outside, her losing her hamster, and coming second last in a race at school. Starr says that when she is sad, she likes to sing this song and Shake to the music! While Chantelle is sad and on Alison's shoulder, Alison, Starr, and Kellylee will sing another song instead and wants the viewer to, like always, "Do what the Do-Whas do!". While Alison, Starr and Kellylee shake to the music, Chantelle cheers up and the song ends with the ending of the lyrics. Chantelle ends off the episode by shaking uncontrollably and saying "Keep shaking!" to the viewer, and then the credits play.

The lyrics can be viewed here.
